Meloz Manufacturing

MELOZ Manufacturing was established in 2011. We specialise in the manufacturing of custom designed office furniture.

Our head office is based in Mascot. We utilise up to date leading edge software, technology and machinery to ensure we can offer our customers flexibility and a diverse range of products.

Our large range of HOMAG machinery includes a BAZ CNC, Holzma Beamsaw, Brandt Edgebander and a Vantage CNC machine which allows us to produce a consistent quality of furniture, at the highest standard and at a rapid rate. Our machines are constantly in production in order to achieve fast lead time for our clients.

With strict QA processes in place our Quality Assurance Manager is able to check each item for defects before releasing them to our customers. All of our product is Australian made.

In the initial stages of our business setup, Meloz engaged Integrated Joinery Solutions (IJS) to design our entire range of products. In addition to that, IJS provided ongoing support and assistance with any new designs and requirements as they occurred. The complexity lay not only in the design of the product but also in the output of programs that could be run individually on our Homag machines with little or no intervention or modification. The catalyst for considering new CAD/CAM software became more and more important when our customers started requesting special designs and non-standard sizing that could easily be achieved in ever decreasing lead times.

In January 2014, a decision was made bring the product design in-house. After a comprehensive market investigation, TopSolid was selected based not only on its flexibility but also on its ability to produce output suitable for our machinery seamlessly. A key factor in the decision-making process was the knowledge and expertise of the IJS consultants that we constantly leverage off.

2. Ability to change product dimensions on the fly without having to re-assign all the manufacturing components again

3. Once the library items have been setup and linked to specific manufacturers, the ease of being able to include components into designs such as doors, drawers, shelving and all the hardware we require to complete our manufacture

4. The step process to produce output for our machinery

When Meloz commenced operations in 2011, we had no experience in the field of office furniture manufacturing and as such most of our time was spent training and learning on the production machinery. Thus, from the outset, a key factor in the decision-making process was to engage with a company would be able to assist with the design and implementation of our initial product set. The practical knowledge and expertise of the IJS consultants provided exactly what was required and it still a requirement that we constantly leverage off.

Additionally, the initial one-on-one training provided was exemplary where the trainers not only had in-depth knowledge of their product but were also able to understand and convey the practical application of the software. We continue to utilize their expertise on an ongoing basis.
